The research
fraternity gathers much of its information and contributes in equal amount to
international research journals. These journals are related to various topics
and cover almost all subjects studied at the master’s and PhD level. The
journals are created by the contributions from research scholars, professors,
research guides, and editors. There are also practicing professionals who make
new findings as they work for years in a field and write papers on the subject.
All these experts together make a journal that is of high value and useful for
the researchers.
The journals are
created with the collaboration of researchers and editors, with a strict
selection process for the papers. Not all papers are published in the journals.
The Journal of finance, as well as
the Journal of Marketing, has a set
format and standards regarding language and structure. These standards have to
be followed by the writers. They must submit the papers to the journal publication
house, which forwards the same to the editors and for peer review. The review
is done by following double blind refereeing process. This is a process by
which the name, position and profession of the writer are hidden from the
person doing the review. This makes sure that the review is done only on the basis
of the merit of research paper, sans any influence by the name and authority of
the writer. The review team consists of academicians and professionals. For
instance, the International Journal ofMarketing has senior academicians and marketing professionals to review the
papers submitted for the journal. Likewise, the International Journal of Finance has a team of practicing financial
experts and advisers to check the research papers by scholars.
After being peer
reviewed, the research papers are handed over to the in-house editors, who
again check them for any shortcomings in language, structure and grammar. They
also examine the reliability and validity of the information provided. A plagiarism
check is run to ensure that the writing is authentic and not copied from any
other source. The coverage of the journals is vast, and this means that the
journals are used by a corresponding number of readers. For delivering
trustworthy research papers to the readers, who might use the same as reference
on research work, the check for authenticity is vital.
